So remember when I didn't go to my last two Fashion Shows? Well, enough is enough. I am buckling down, putting my fears behind me, and going for it.

So I have been invited to NYFW twice since really digging my heals into this blogging thing. It was (and still is, so very much so) a ton of work. I guess it isn't so much work as it is effort...well I guess planning (which honestly, I am really not very good at). That doesn't go to say that effort/work/hustle (whatever you wanna call it) isn't required. Because it is. And a lot of it. But I don't choose to call it "work" because I LOVE doing this. But that is neither here nor there (get me).
Anyway, the whole reason behind this post is to show you how and what I did leading up to my first time at NYFW (holy shit am I scared). Moving on!
Even if you have not/are not/will not/don't care to attend NYFW, this ALL applies to you! Yes, YOU! At some point in your beautiful, crazy life, you doubted yourself. You were scared of something, you wanted to go somewhere/do something but just didn't have the guts, THIS. APPLIES. TO. YOU. Just because you and me are on two different stops in our journeys, doesn't mean we aren't the same. Okay, you may continue.
1 - I need to mentally prepare myself. Fashion Week is in less than a week. WHAT THE ACTUAL F. First of all, I have no idea what to expect so already this is making me second guess everything - BUT. I am putting those thoughts aside and just going to bite the bullet. After enough self-coaxing, moving on to #2.
2 - Daily motivation/affirmations. Honestly, this helps so much (for anything and everything). Even you are reading this and are thinking "HTF (thats's "how the f*&%^" bcuz I like to make up random abbreviations for things) does this apply to me, gurl!?" Well - just like anything else in life, if you are unsure about something and have doubts (which is all I am feeling about NYFW), then reminding yourself that you are a badass and can handle anything and giving yourself a little daily motivation, you will eventually overcome what you fear.
3 - Pamper seshes! I am not one to pamper myself; the occasional shopping spree (what?? that isn't considered pampering?!) or the mani/pedi with your gee-efs (GFs GET IT?? LAWLZ), or just some quiet time at home to reflect on everything is all the pampering I need.
4 - Research helps a ton! Luckily, I live right outside the city so I don't need to find accomodations or transportation - everything is relatively easy to get to and navigate. But, I did have to research the location - am I walking (if so, I have to make sure I wear the appropriate footwear / carry a spare with me!) or taking an Uber. Times and locations are definitely two important aspects of preparation!
5 - REMEMBER TO HAVE FUN! I have to constantly remind myself to have fun - isn't that sad LOL But really, we all get caught up on things and forget why we are doing them in the first place - because we WANT to, because we love it, or whatever your reasoning is. Just remember to have fun and you will get the most out of any situation.
