Want to know the secret to good looking skin? it's not only about the makeup and fancy creams and serums. It's about creating good habits to keep your skin looking #flawless. But here's the thing. If you are ignoring those good habits and are adhering to bad habits on the daily, you really won't do your skin any favors, no matter how much makeup you wear to conceal any problems. Keep reading for what not  to do     Bad Habit #1: Not committing to regular skin care practices When it comes to skin care , you can take part in irregular practices, such as having a facial at the spa or laser treatment to remove any blemishes. But proper skin care begins at home. On a daily basis, no matter how busy you are, you need to wash your skin, exfoliate, and moisturize, as this will keep your skin looking clean and supple, and will reduce the possibility of enlarged pores, dryness, and acne. Make time for skin care each day, both morning and night, especially when considering the next point.       Bad Habit #2: Going to bed without washing away your makeup We have all been there. Coming home from work or a night out, we are too tired to get in the shower or have a decent wash, and we fall into our bed and la la land with makeup still intact. As you will know if this has happened to you, the consequences are not great for your skin. The makeup will clog your pores, give your skin a dried parched look, and increase the chances of acne. Oh, and the makeup will also leave a nasty stain on your pillow too! Therefore, no matter how tired you feel, spend time washing away your makeup. Or, at the very least, leave a box of wipes next to your bed to remind you to remove the makeup before you hit the pillow.       Bad Habit #3: Drinking too much coffee I might actually be in denial with this one...

We get it, we really do! To stay awake during the day, and to keep you on task with your busy lifestyle, you reach for the coffee cup on a regular basis. First thing in the morning as you try and wake yourself from slumber (let's hope you don't look like Bozo the Clown with last night's makeup residue still on); mid-morning when you need a burst of energy; lunchtime when your colleagues go on the coffee run; and when you return home from work to ensure you don't make the mistake you made yesterday (yes, we are talking about falling asleep with your makeup on). But here's the thing! Too much caffeine is bad for your skin. It can cause skin breakouts and acne. It can dehydrate your skin. And it limits the essential nutrients needed to produce collagen around your body. Therefore, limit the coffee you drink, and revert to water for your energy boosts, as that will also hydrate your skin and keep it looking and feeling fresh.       Bad Habit #4: Popping your pimples (other spots are applicable) A million screams are heard every morning! And it's all thanks to the blasted mirror! Well, it's not entirely the mirror's fault (in fact it's not the mirror's fault at all), as when you look at your reflection in the mirror and notice the arrival of a new spot on your face, it's probably your fault. You then make matters worse by popping the blasted spot before anybody else sees it! Big mistake! By popping the spot, you are pushing dirt back into your pores, and this will lead to an even bigger outbreak of spots. To avoid this terrible truth staring back at you the next time you look in the mirror, ensure you avoid the bad habits on this list, and if you do notice a spot on your face, consider these natural ways to remove them. You really might be the fairest of them all (should you ask your mirror's opinion) if you do!       Bad Habit #5: Testing too many products at the store We know you want to find the best makeup for you . Of course you want to experiment with lotions that will make your skin feel, smell, and look great. And we appreciate that it's fun to hang out with your girlfriends at the mall, testing out this and that until you find something fabulous. But there is a caveat to all this! You may be doing more harm to your skin than good. Unless you have taken professional advice, the mixing and matching of chemicals from these skin products could bring you out in an allergic reaction. Therefore, try them out on a hidden part of your skin, such as your arm, rather than your face. But again, don't overdo it, as you don't want a nasty rash anywhere on your body as a consequence.       Bad Habit #6: Frowning too often

Turn your frown upside down! And by that we mean find ways to smile more. You see, the more you frown, the more likely you are to acquire permanent wrinkles on your skin. And when you see those blasted wrinkles? You will probably frown more, and that will only exacerbate the problem. Of course, frowning isn't the only problem you will have. Other facial expressions, such as pouting, will also increase the risk of lines on your face, so you may also want to go easy on those selfies!        Bad Habit #7: Not exercising enough We say 'not exercising enough,' but you may not be exercising at all! Sorry to say it, but lifting the remote control to change channels or taking the stairs to the bathroom are not viable ways to say you have fulfilled your exercise quota for the day. The more exercise you do, the healthier your skin will look and feel, as described here . If you are reluctant to exercise, perhaps because you find it a chore, look for something fun to do, such as hitting the dance floor, playing sports with your friends, or playing outdoor games with your family. Do anything other than become a couch potato, as that won't help any aspect of your health.        If you relate to any of the bad habits we have mentioned, then you know what to do. Stop doing them! Form good habits instead, and by doing so, you will maintain your beautiful and radiant looks for longer. You know it makes sense!       xx
