People update the way they look all kinds of ways these days; tattoos, piercings, new haircuts. The only problem with those ideas? They’re a pretty big commitment! There’s laser surgery, and you can take piercings out, and hair grows, but for a while, you’re pretty much stuck with them. How about some non committal ways to update your look instead?
In this guide we have 5 suggestions so you can have fun with your look and find something that suits you before you choose to make a more permanent decision:
Wear A New Style
Have you ever spotted a style you absolutely love, but have been too afraid to wear? Try it out! Buy a cheap outfit from a high street store, borrow something from a friend, or even buy something second hand. Wearing a new style isn’t a commitment at all, and you could actually find something that you really love to wear.
Pro Tip:
Try creating a Pinterest board full of styles you’d like to try and see what resonates with you the most. If you can push through your comfort zone to wear something new, you might actually find something amazing!

Buy A New Lipstick
Wearing a new lipstick isn’t a big deal at all, so be brave and slick on a new shade. How about a bright red, or orange shade? If you always wear nudes, try wearing a bright pink, or even a deep plum. Avoid a faux pas by learning about your skin tone and the colors that suit it best, and then go from there. Follow the tips below too, so that your lipstick always looks amazing:
Exfoliate your lips gently to remove dead skin (some great, natural, and cheap ways coming to the blog soon!)
Apply a balm to make sure they are soft, let it soak in while you do the rest of your makeup
Use a lipstick primer to ensure lasting power
Use a lip pencil to define and plump, but don’t go too far out of the edges
Apply your lipstick with a brush to begin with, then blot, and apply from the stick
Now you should have a perfect lip shade that lasts all day!
Try A Wig (Seriously)
Wigs are totally non committal and can look amazing if you apply them properly. Instructions should come with the wig; usually all you have to do is apply the cap that the wig comes with and then apply the wig so that it blends in with your natural hair line. You can use hair spray, a toothbrush to create hair that looks realistic, and even a little makeup to blend the wig in perfectly. You can get a feel for different wig styles from a wig store online - be brave and choose something bold and bright!
Change Your Parting
Not into wigs? Just flip your parting instead. Try it on the other side or in the middle. Simple!
Get Some Henna
A tattoo is a pretty big commitment, so why not try henna instead? It’s pretty, lasts a while, and is perfect for special occasions and holidays. And is #trending ;)
